Visiting Western Loudoun
Here is some information about the local area, and places that I have been that I enjoy and recommend.
The farm is located on a scenic byway in Western Loudoun County Virginia nestled between the Blue Ridge and Short Hill mountains. Western Loudoun is known for the many wineries and breweries in the area. However, Western Loudoun has a lot more to offer. There are many farms, and even opportunities for horseback riding.
The nearby Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers provide for several adventure outfitters that offer many activities from tubing, kayaking, zip lines, obstacle courses, and more. Across the river is Historic Harpers Ferry a quaint historic town at the confluence of the two rivers. Only a short drive away is Antietam, the site of the bloodiest battle in United States history. Charles Town Casino features a casino, and race track. Also nearby are both the C&O and the W&OD trails for walking, and biking. The Appalachian Trail, runs along the Blue Ridge and is accessible from Route 9, but also the Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship and Maryland Heights also offer scenic hiking trails.
